Garrett Heath - From the Mile to SkiingPublished by
Ahead of Medtronic TC Mile, Garrett Heath Talks Mile and MoreBy Chris Lotsbom, Dyestat EditorOne of the most versatile runners on the pro circuit, Garrett Heath is always a contender. From the mile on the roads to cross country, Heath, 31, always finds a way to the front of the pack. On Thursday, he'll return to the Medtronic TC Mile, aiming to improve upon his runner-up finish a year ago. Heath has competed in the mile through Minneapolis four times since 2010, finishing fifth (2010), second ('13), first ('15), and second ('16). Coming off a fourth-place finish at the Grand Blue Mile (which was the USA Road Mile Championships) on April 25, Heath is chomping at the bit to return to the winner's podium. Speaking with race organizers, Heath gave a glimpse at his outlook on Thursday's race, and shared a few off-the-track facts. Did you know that --similar to American 5K record holder Ben True-- Heath's first love was cross country skiing? |
